Arusdaerahnews.com - Sugapa Intan Jaya, MediaHabema – One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Intan Jaya Regency, Papua Tengah Province. On Sunday, 24 November 2024, the 509 Task Forces, especially the Koper Post (preparatory office of Territorial Command) led by Second Lieutenant Alvinta Sembiring, conducted Social Communication (Komsos) with some residents of Ndugusiga Village, Sugapa District, while conducting areal protection tasks.
Emphasizing the pivotal role of the community, Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, the 509 Task Forces Commander, stressed the importance of the Task Forces’ focus on the community's fundamental needs in the assigned area. Therefore, on Sunday, the Soldiers took advantage of the protection tasks through interaction and communication with the residents at the Post’s yard. The purpose of that interaction was to distribute sport equipment from the Chief of Indonesian Army, General Maruli Simanjuntak, to Ndugusiga.
While maintaining their focus on security, the Soldiers took the opportunity to communicate in harmony with the Ndugusiga residents. In this communication, the Soldiers and Ndugusiga residents conducted soccer joint practice to utilize the free distribution by the Chief of Army. In response to the soldiers’ role, a resident, Markus Tabuni, said, "Thank you, Commander 509. We are happy to practice soccer together. God bless." This heartwarming response from the youth underscores the impact of the Army's efforts and the unity and support in the assigned area, providing a sense of reassurance and security.
After receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, acknowledged the 509 Task Forces’ initiative to communicate socially with Ndugusiga residents. His words: "The 509 Task Forces' initiative is a testament to TNI's commitment to conduct inclusive social communication with all stakeholders to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region." This acknowledgment from the highest authority in HABEMA underscores the significant impact of such initiatives on the region's development, instilling profound hope and optimism about their potential to positively shape the region's future.
